The smaller shield found on the dedicated line trimmers was also purchased from the spares rack at the local Stihl dealer. These two parts were installed in place of the brush cutter blade (swapping back and forth as needed.)\n\nThis dual line string trimmer head is the best I\u0027ve ever used, and I\u0027ve used a few of various makes and models over the years, from hand-swung weed whips, to electric string trimmers from department stores, and even a green gas powered unit that lasted some 10-years of hard work.\n\nThe SuperCut really does feed out line automatically without having to bump the ground, doesn\u0027t need adjustment, and has been largely trouble free for two seasons (but this last season saw a severe drought here in the middle USA so it hardly counts). I was a little afraid that it would be a lot of trouble but it hasn\u0027t been. The one time there was an issue with the feed turned out to be that one of the lines had crossed to the other side of the spool. Since this has happened only once I\u0027m inclined to think it was caused by improper winding. I was also a little afraid that it would be over zealous in feeding line. It isn\u0027t; there always seems to be fresh but a spool of line lasts a long time.\n\nThis thing works well. The power unit never struggles even in the thickest weeds, but it works fine at low speeds when near trees (cut the grass not the bark). I spend much more time actually working and very little time messing around with the cutter head.\n\nIf I had to find something to complain about it would be the instructions which is simply a card of pictures attempting to portray usage and the winding of string.
